Being Vegetarian In…

Since I’m vegetarian and an incorrigible traveler with my family, I thought it’d be a good idea to start documenting how hard or easy it is to eat a meatless diet on the go.

Food is such an important aspect of a successful trip. I sometimes don’t remember the name of a spectacular Irish castle we spent a morning at or the city that boasted amazing sidewalk graffiti, but I can still taste the divinely simple margherita pizza with fresh basil and mozzarella, hot off the stone oven, we inhaled in Florence almost 10 years ago. The Turkish gozleme that an old lady sold fresh from her roadside stall beat many other upscale meals I’ve had over the years.

Since good food memories can almost break or break a vacation, I’ve decided to document the ease of availability and vegetarian options for travelers in various countries/regions/basically wherever our adventures take us. For a particularly memorable meal, I may even mention specific restaurants.

Bon veggie appetit!
